Bel-Shazzar

The grandson of Adda and Nebuchadnezzar, Bel-Shazzar is the last Chaldean king of Babylon. He is an arrogant, young king. When he instigates a war with the Medes and the Persians, Daniel comes to Babylon to warn him that the days of his reign are numbered. At a banquet, in his own honor, Bel-shazzar tempts fate by drinking from the chalices stolen from the temple of Solomon in libation to the gods of Babylon. This brings a sign from God in the form of a mysterious message written on the wall of the palace. Daniel is summoned to interpret the cryptic message after the Babylonian astrologers fail.

Bel-Shazzar’s drunken banquet is interrupted by the invading Medes and Persians, who after infiltrating the city by stealth and by guile, fulfill prophecy and bring Bel-Shazzar’s reign to an untimely end, hacking him to pieces.

About

the exile king2
“The Exile” is a three-part film project based on the book of Daniel and the events surrounding remnant Israel’s seventy year exile in Babylon. Following in the tradition of Ben-Hur, this biblical epic fuses together the sub-genres to which “The Passion of the Christ” and “Gladiator” belong. The story carries the gospel message from a unique perspective, the events within it occurring hundreds of years before Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection.
