Daniel

The protagonist of the story; taken hostage from Judah into Babylon during his youth, and becoming King Nebuchadnezzar’s high minister. Throughout his life, Daniel has received visions from God concerning the future Messiah. Daniel’s strength of character, loyalty, and piety are established early on as cornerstones of his personality, which enable him to be a good leader.

Oftentimes, his piety, although putting him in danger of certain death, is the very thing which keeps him alive and full of spirit throughout his years in exile. We see Daniel, throughout the story, struggle with numerous decisions and fall in love, and at the same time, always staying true to himself and his God.

About

the exile king2
“The Exile” is a three-part film project based on the book of Daniel and the events surrounding remnant Israel’s seventy year exile in Babylon. Following in the tradition of Ben-Hur, this biblical epic fuses together the sub-genres to which “The Passion of the Christ” and “Gladiator” belong. The story carries the gospel message from a unique perspective, the events within it occurring hundreds of years before Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection.
